This restaurant used to be Kareem's and now its owned by Sanjyeh (who was the franchise owner). The food is much better than when it was Kareems. The ambience is good, a little over the top when it comes to the decor. The seating area is quite small, one might call it cozy. :) You almost feel like you are sitting in a cave. The kitchen has a glass window and you can see the tandoor and the kebabs grilling.

The food is typical Punjabi. They have heavy copper plates and glasses. Not sure if I like them or not :). I loved the kebab platter (enough for 4 adults). Small selection of soups. I would pass the soups as it is nothing spectacular. As for the entree, we have tasted almost all the chicken curries and loved all. The garlic nan is awesome. A little fatty ;), almost like eating garlic bread.. The Kheema naan can be skipped. The stuffing was too dry and plain. Neeraj tried some Raan curry when he went on his own and said it was different and very well made.

The veg curries were also decent. The portions are medium sized. The paan offered along with your bill is such a thoughtful gesture. It comes as a very pleasant surprise. :) . I think some part of the charm of the restaurant also lies in the owner who takes time to talk to each guest.

A typical meal for two would cost 450-500 rs.
Overall a good experience with good food!

Update: they don't take reservations from Friday to Sunday.

This restaurant has a catch name and decent looking interiors and thats it!! Step in and you will realize how tacky this place is. I am not turning up my nose because it is not expensive. Even the cheapest places have excellent food and decent level of cleanliness. My main complain is that the place is just sooo dirty.. the tables have dirty tablecloths, dirty linen. I mean you could place bets on when it was washed last.

The food is the typical run of the mill desi chinese and punjabi. Portions are small and the prices are also reasonable. Tad bit more expensive than the desi chinese stalls, but then you also get to eat in an A/C. The food is spicy and hot. Nothing much to write about. They also serve non-veg.

The first thing you notice is the ambience. It reminds you of a sports bar in the US. The booth seating is very spacious, unlike most places where they try to squeeze in as many tables possible in the given area. You can actually get into your seat and out of it without having to push the table back.

The menu is different. It features a lot of fish, lamb and beef dishes. We started with a Greek chicken soup which was a delicate chicken and rice based broth. It was hard to dish the out the soup beyond the first few spoons. The soup might be a letdown to some because it is quite a subtle dish with the strongest flavor as rice.

For appetizers, we had hummus with Pita bread which was good and very close to the authentic taste (or the American authentic that we are familiar with).

I had Morrocan Chicken with Kabsa rice at rs. 325. This was the best dish amongst all the things we tried. It has two skewers of chicken kebabs with a strong barbeque sauce and cinamon. This was again a very unique flavor which may need some getting used to. The rice was good. The portions are on the smaller size, I guess not really small, but when you pay that much, you sort of expect to get more WFM. :)
Neeraj had some pomfret with garlic butter over mashed potatoes. Again at rs. 425, it was a steep price for one fillet of fish. The taste was good, but the price lingers at every bite :)

Overall it is a good place to entertain "foreign guests" esp if your company is paying :D

We have been busy and lazy :) Not an excuse, because we have been eating out and trying out new restaurants. But, we are going to try to be regular...
